Linking Climate Change Negotiations
Two-day public and policy forum, 12-13 November 2008, Copenhagen.
The purpose of this Copenhagen Policy Forum, organised by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Humanitarian Space, is to identify policy recommendations on how the effects of climate change can be mainstreamed into disaster risk reduction strategies, as agreed in the Hyogo Framework for Action. Such recommendations could also help inform the negotiators of the UNFCCC post 2012 agreement and to identify actions needed at national and international level to assure a sound synergy between DRR and Climate Change adaptation at the policy and operational level, in particular in the countries most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change.
